This is one of my favorite thrift stores on the cape and Andy and I go there frequently. Usually after going to the dump we like to go to the swap shop, and if the swap shop is closed, we head over to the Brewster Thrift and go thrifting.
The ladies (and occasional gentlemen) who run the place are so nice. I mean, pretty much all thrift store ladies are nice, but these ladies are especially nice. Also, they get great stuff! It’s always something weird and interesting. The clothes are meh, though. Lots of old lady clothes, sorry to say, but I’ve found some things occasionally.
If I were bringing out-of-towners to just one “typical” Cape Cod thrift shop, where it’s probably going to be worth coming even if you just get to look at some neat stuff, this is where I would come.
As far as the Annex goes — it is sometimes open, more often in the summer, and has larger items like furniture. We bought a lot of directors’ chairs to use as outdoor seating from there which was great. Always worth a look if it’s open, but it’s hit or miss if it’s open or not.
